The Swift space telescope fell out of orbit and burned up in the Earth's atmosphere over Indonesia.
The American Swift space telescope, which for two decades studied gamma-ray bursts - the most powerful energy explosions in the universe, fell from its orbit and burned up in the Earth's atmosphere over Indonesia, NASA said. The 1.5-tonne observatory ceased to exist three months after an attempt to move it into a higher orbit to extend its life using a gravity satellite failed.
