Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belusov is on a working visit to China, the Russian Defense Ministry announced on Tuesday. "Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belusov, as part of a working visit to the People's Republic of China, held negotiations with the Vice Chairman of the Central Military Council of the People's Republic of China, Colonel General Zhang Shenmin," the ministry said. "The strategic partnership of the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China has reached an unprecedented high level," Belusov stated, as quoted by the Russian Defense Ministry. "The head of the Russian Defense Department stated that the partnership between the two countries is based on personal contacts between the President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping," the Russian Ministry of Defense said in a statement. "I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate you on your election as a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China," Belusov said.
