Spain and Italy stop mutual border control.

Spain and Italy have decided not to renew mutual border controls, which were introduced after Rome expressed dissatisfaction with the influx of tens of thousands of immigrants to the Spanish city of Ceuta from Morocco this summer, the Spanish Interior Ministry said today (Thursday). "Spain has agreed with Italy on the abolition of border controls," the department said in a message published on the X social network following a telephone conversation between the heads of the Spanish and Italian interior ministries, Fernando Grande-Marlaschi and Matteo Piantdossi.
