The Revolutionary Guards threaten to damage submarine internet cables in the Strait of Hormuz
The Fars news agency reported that Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) threatened to attack communication cables passing through the Strait of Hormuz. "Underwater communication cables may become new targets for Iran," said Revolutionary Guards spokesman Brigadier General Hossein Mohabi. "Seven major undersea cables are laid through the Strait of Hormuz, on which internet traffic and commercial data transfer around the world depend," he said.
