Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said on Wednesday that a container ship struck a mine while trying to pass through Tehran's restricted zone for commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz. "The container ship carrying goods hit a mine and caught fire while trying to pass through a dangerous and forbidden section of the Strait of Hormuz," the Mehr news agency quoted the Revolutionary Guards as saying.
