An earthquake with a magnitude of 5 occurred on Tuesday night near the northern Kuril Islands of the Sakhalin region, the Sakhalin branch of the United Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences told Interfax. A magnitude 5 earthquake was recorded on the night of October 13 in the Pacific Ocean with an epicenter 152 km east of the uninhabited island of Matua.
