The British consulate in Jerusalem will become a mission

The British consulate in Jerusalem will cease to operate, but London's diplomatic presence in the city will remain in the form of a British mission, the kingdom's foreign secretary Ed Miliband said on Thursday. "Following consultation with the Israeli authorities, we agreed that the consulate building will not be closed and from now on will function as the British mission in Jerusalem," the minister said in a statement.
