The ships of the Northern Fleet passed through the Shokalsky Strait in the North Pole for the first time

A division of ships and support vessels of the Northern Fleet, under the command of Deputy Commander of the Fleet Vice Admiral Oleg Golubov, passed through the Shukalsky Strait for the first time in the history of the Russian Navy and entered the Kara Sea, the fleet's press service reported on Tuesday. "During the crossing of the strait, a drill alert was announced on the ships of the division in order to increase combat readiness for the passage of the strait," the announcement reads.
