Floods are recorded in Bangkok due to torrential rain for more than a day

A heightened flood alert was announced Saturday in Bangkok, where heavy rains have continued for more than 24 hours. "Residents in areas near canals and low-lying areas are urged to move to higher ground, protect valuables and avoid unnecessary travel," the Disaster Reduction Department said in a message sent to Bangkok residents' mobile phones on Saturday.
