The Kamchatka Shibloch volcano threw an ash column to a height of 8.6 km

The Shiveluch volcano, which erupted in Kamchatka, on Saturday morning released an ash column up to 8.6 km high, while the height of the volcano itself is 3.2 km, reports the Kamchatka Volcanic Eruption Monitoring Group (KVERT) of the Institute of Volcanology and Seismology of the Russian Academy of Sciences in the Far East. "The ash plume is spreading west from the volcano, deep into the peninsula," the report states.
