Any renewal of hostilities by the US may cause Iran and its allies to expand the scope of attacks on targets related to global energy supply, including in the Red Sea and the Bab al-Mandab Strait, and possibly move them to the Indian Ocean, said Major General Yahya Safavi, a senior military adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader. "If the Americans start a new war, they could see a new front opening before their eyes, centered on the Red Sea and Bab al-Mandab Strait," Safawi warned, his statement quoted by Fars news agency.
