Turkish authorities are in contact with all parties to the conflict in Ukraine in the hope that it will not escalate, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday. "We continue to maintain contact with the parties in order to restore the safety of navigation in the Black Sea, including food security, and to prevent the spread of hostilities to the wider region," he said. "Recent attacks on commercial ships in the Black Sea, regardless of who carried them out, are not acceptable," Erdogan said.
