A high alert regime was declared in the Irkutsk region due to bears
A high-alert regime has been imposed in the entire Irkutsk region due to the increasing frequency of cases of bear attacks on people, regional governor Igor Kobzev said on his official channel Max Messenger on Saturday. "I signed an order to introduce a high alert regime in the Irkutsk region from September 18 due to the increasing frequency of cases of bears leaving their natural habitat for the territories of populated areas, on highways and even directly to the households of the residents," the statement said.
