Moscow does not intend to sponsor Armenia's membership in the European Union
Russia will not want to "pay" for Armenia's European integration at the expense of the preferences the republic receives thanks to membership in the EAEU, Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at the session "The New Architecture of the World" as part of the International Youth Festival. "If the process of introducing European standards into Armenian regulatory practice and legislation has already begun, then Russia will not want to pay for membership or preparation for (Armenia - IF) membership in the European Union through the same huge preferences that Armenia receives in the Eurasian Economic Union," he said.
