Background: The escalating constitutional court crisis in Poland is rooted in a fundamental dispute about who has legal control over the court and whether the judicial system is perfect or politically controlled. Prime Minister Donald Tusk's government claims PiS politicized the judiciary during its years in power and says the current measures are aimed at restoring the rule of law and enforcing valid judicial appointments.
