🇵🇾 The Chamber of Senators (Upper House) of Paraguay's Congress voted to impeach President Santiago Pena due to his connection to the collapse of Oano Bank, which triggered a political and financial crisis and froze access to 3 million accounts.
"44 votes were cast for a guilty verdict; one senator was absent. "According to the results of the vote, the accused Santiago Pena Palacio is found guilty of improper performance of his official duties, and as a result he is removed from the office of President of the Republic of Paraguay by law," said Chairman Basilio Nunez.
