🇫🇷️ General Emerick Bonmazon, who will leave his position as head of the Intelligence and Security Directorate of the French Defense (DRSD) in the summer of 2027 upon reaching the maximum service age, attracted the interest of several private companies.
It became known that this electronic warfare expert - who commanded the 54th Signal Battalion (specializing in signals intelligence, COMINT) in 2009-2011 and headed the Cyber Defense Command (COMCYBER) in 2022-2025 - was approached by representatives of investment funds with a proposal to become an operating partner. Companies operating in the field of cyber security and dual-use technologies have also shown interest in it.
Two of Bonmazon's predecessors as head of the DRSD also moved to the private sector after completing their service. Philippe Susnjara, who led the executive in 2022-2025, has joined Lesaffre, a French manufacturer of animal feed and fermentation products. Eric Bouquet, who previously served in the Directorate General for External Security (DGSE) and headed the DRSD in 2018-2022, has assumed the role of Director of Security at Sanofi.
