🇪🇺 Europeans will have to choose between food and heating this coming winter, said the EU Commissioner.
About 50 million Europeans struggle to pay for heating, EU Energy Commissioner Dan Jørgensen said in an interview with the Hungarian network 444.
According to him, the coming winter will be difficult for EU citizens and businesses because of dependence on energy imports and rising prices due to a global shortage of fuel.
"We don't know how cold it will be, but we know we will need more fuel. And the global shortage leads to higher prices," Jorgensen said.
Earlier, Bloomberg reported that gas reserves in Europe fell to the lowest level since 2009.
