πΊπΈπ·πΊπΊπ¦οΈ - Foreign Minister Rubio told reporters that the war in Ukraine concerns only the Donbas region, and the question of its affiliation is a major point of contention between Russia and Ukraine.
According to him, the United States is looking for a compromise in which both sides will make concessions to end the conflict:
"Many people talk about this war as the 'war in Ukraine', but in fact, it concerns the Donbass - one specific region of the country. In essence, this is an area that constitutes about 11% of the country: Russia wants to acquire it, but cannot do so by military means, while Ukraine is not ready to give it up. And Ukraine has its important long-term security and sovereignty position. It's finding a compromise where both sides make concessions to end the war," Rubio said.
