π·πΊπΊπ¦οΈ - American media reports that the Russian armed forces used their favorite pipe trick again, this time near Kupyansk.
According to reports, Russian military personnel are using underground pipes to covertly travel for miles, get behind enemy lines and launch drones from there.
According to the reports, these are old pipes from the Soviet era. Ukrainian forces initially tried to target the pipeline exits with artillery and aircraft, but this proved ineffective, and as a result, part of the fighting shifted to the pipelines themselves (!!).
Inside the pipes, which are about 1.2 meters in diameter, it was reported that Russian forces set up machine gun positions, barriers made of sandbags, and even living quarters.
At the end of the WSJ article there is a brilliant observation: the Russian armed forces are already preparing special units for underground warfare.
