π©π―πΎπͺπͺπΉοΈ - At least 109 migrants, including 15 children, died and more than 116 remain missing after a boat carrying 350 capsized off Djibouti on October 8-9, according to the International Organization for Migration (IOM).
The boat was heading from Djibouti to Yemen when it capsized near Ubok. More than 80 Ethiopian migrants have survived, while search and rescue operations continue.
The route is used by tens of thousands of immigrants from the Horn of Africa looking for work and better living conditions in the Gulf countries, despite the dangers of the transition and the ongoing violence in Yemen.
