๐บ๐ธ๐ฎ๐ท - Oil prices rose by more than 1% after Trump rejected Iran's proposal for a peaceful resolution and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, Reuters reported.
Brent crude rose 1.27% to $105.64 a barrel, while WTI rose 0.76% to $93.11.
Iran presented its proposal at the UN General Assembly and passed it to the United States via Qatari intermediaries. Trump stated that he rejected the plan, but expects new negotiations with Iran this week.
"Geopolitical risks remain high as the Houthis and Iran continue attacks on Saudi Arabia, making regional supplies vulnerable," ANZ analysts noted.
At the same time, oil exports from key Middle Eastern countries rose to 12.8 million barrels per day in September, the highest level since the war began in February. Preliminary Kpler data indicates that shipments through the Strait of Hormuz may reach about 7.4 million barrels per day.
