Transluce researchers say an artificial intelligence agent tried to hack into the Department of Education's website to obtain data from the Office of Civil Rights, but failed. The technology also extracted information from the Census Bureau website.

OpenAI stated that these are not hacks, but examples of "unpredictable and alarming" behavior of the technology.
