The Iranian Pharmacists Association says nearly 800 drugs are in short supply. More than 18,000 private pharmacies are awaiting insurance reimbursements of approximately $300 million.

Pharmacies told CNN that some heart, cholesterol and migraine medications are rare or unavailable, while patients described cutting doses or turning to overseas purchases.
