Germany received its first F-35 fighter jet from the US.
Lockheed Martin officially handed over the aircraft to the German government during a ceremony held at its manufacturing facility in Fort Worth, Texas, in the presence of German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius.
"The new F-35A fighter jet is the most modern fighter jet in the world," Pistorius said in his speech.
"It stands out for its stealth capabilities, tight integration with other systems and particularly powerful sensor equipment."
In 2022, Germany ordered 35 F-35A fighter jets. These aircraft are intended to replace the aging Tornado fleet.
