🇩🇪🇪🇺 General Carsten Breuer, Germany's Chief of Defense, has been elected as the head of the next NATO Military Commission, succeeding Admiral Giuseppe Cabo Dragon in July 2027.

Breuer, who has been praised for his strategic foresight, will advise Secretary-General Mark Rutte and bridge military recommendations to political leaders. He has served as Inspector General of the Bundeswehr since March 2023.
