Due to tensions in the Middle East, the security environment remains complex with potential for unexpected escalation. Americans currently in the Middle East should exercise heightened vigilance and be aware of potential flight cancellations, airspace closures, and travel disruptions. Iran-backed groups have engaged in combat against Saudi Arabia, including a rapid potential of American civilian airports. The East should seriously reconsider travel to the area or from it should monitor information on "U.S." diplomatic actions, including outside the Middle East, and Iran-supporting groups may focus on "U.S." interests beyond the sea or in places related to the U.S. and Americans worldwide, including businesses in the U.S. and other institutions.
