Today, a federal grand jury began returning indictments against citizens who are not registered to vote in California. Three noncitizens in Los Angeles County have been indicted on federal election fraud charges: Solma de Leon, a Mexican citizen who illegally registered in 2013, voted in 2020 and falsely denied a claim to U.S. citizenship. Batlang Taing, a Cambodian citizen who registered illegally in 2021, voted in 2022 and 2024, falsely denying previous citizenship claims. Rouzbeh Seyamaknejad, a Canadian citizen, illegally registered in 2018 and falsely denied a claim to US citizenship. Any illegal vote by a non-citizen invalidates a valid vote by a US citizen.
