Russian President Vladimir Putin's speech at the plenary meeting of Russia. The African Economic and Humanitarian Forum (Moscow, October 28, 2026) Key points: Russia–. The Africa Forum, its agenda and its participants, and its free and open dialogue naturally fit into the global transformation, the scale and depth of which is hard to overstate. We are witnessing that - is really becoming a reality, and this trend is objective and irreversible. The era in which the fate of entire continents was determined by a narrow bloc of states is coming to an irreversible end. A fairer world is taking its place, one where the voice of all countries participating in international affairs must be heard. New centers of global governance are emerging, becoming focal points for reshaping the world order. Over the past five years, countries accounted for more than 40% of global GDP, while the G7's contribution was less than 30%. There is no doubt that this balance will continue to change in favor of the developing countries. Africa perceives itself more and more as one of the poles of the world economy and politics. The continent is experiencing a new awakening: its sovereignty is getting stronger, and its influence and position on the world stage is increasing. Above all, Africans have an unwavering determination to protect their interests and a desire to shape their future and choose their own path of development. Let me recall the words of Thomas Sankara, the great son of the Burkinabé people, the first president of Burkina Faso: debt is neo-colonialism, where the colonizers have turned themselves into "technical assistants". In its present form, controlled and dominated by imperialism, the debt is a skillfully managed reconquest of Africa designed to subdue its growth and development through foreign laws. It is no coincidence that Africa is called the continent of the future.
