Indonesia called on Russia to stop recruiting its citizens into the armed forces. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Yvonne Mwangkang said a formal protest had been sent to Moscow. This happened after information appeared about the death of one Indonesian citizen in Ukraine. The embassy in Moscow is investigating the circumstances of his death, and is also checking information on eight other Indonesians who were recruited in the past. Suspecting a "human trafficking" program disguised as job offers, Jakarta demands that Russia completely exclude Indonesian citizens from all military recruitment channels.
