According to the "Wall Street Journal", the Trump administration, through intermediaries Witkoff and Kushner, is pressuring European countries to resume importing Russian gas through pipelines passing through Ukraine as an incentive to allow Putin to end the war. The move comes in an attempt to reach an energy ceasefire before winter. European countries are clearly opposed to this, stressing that renewed dependence on Russian energy resources is one of Europe's greatest strategic vulnerabilities. The European Union has decided that by 2027 it is necessary to completely stop importing energy resources from Russia.
