During the visit of King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Antigua and Barbuda Prime Minister Gaston Brown has said he wants to end King Charles' status as head of state and turn his country into a republic, but stressed that he respects the king and that such changes would require public approval in a referendum. Brown also demanded Britain pay reparations for its role in the historic slave trade and warned that without reparations and accountability, similar atrocities could happen again. Brown also criticized Conservative leader Cammy Badenhoek, who called for an end to apologizing for the past.
