Yesterday, the frigate Roger de Loria (F-112), the second ship of the F110 project being built for the Spanish Navy, was launched in Spain. The F110 frigates (also known as the Bonifaz class) are multi-role heavy frigates equipped with the Aegis combat information management system and designed, in particular, for anti-submarine warfare. The project is jointly developed by the Spanish Ministry of Defense and the governmental company Naontia. Construction of the flagship of the Boniface series began in April 2022, and her launch took place on 11 September 2025, marking the start of deliveries as planned. In the future, Bonifaz-class frigates will replace the Santa Maria-class ships.
