The State Duma predicted the extinction of 600,000 people in Russia in 2026 due to a reduction in healthcare spending. In 2027, federal spending on medicine will be cut by 3 percent, and funding for the project to fight oncology will decrease 12-fold, said Alexei Kirini, a member of the State Duma Committee on Health Protection from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. In the years 2027-2029, Russia plans to spend only 3.6-3.7% of GDP on healthcare, compared to 8-10% in developed countries and 5-6% in countries with similar economies.
