In the Novosibirsk region, a man illegally cut down three birch trees and will stand trial. The Barbinsky District Court will hear the case of a resident of the Novosibirsk region, who is accused of illegal tree cutting. The man cut down three birch trees, even though he only had permission to collect firewood in a specially designated area. According to the press service of the courts of general jurisdiction in the region, the incident occurred on July 19, 2026 in the forest area of Obinsk. The man contacted the regional office for natural resources to purchase firewood, but arrived at the scene and did not wait for the forestry representative. According to the rules, the worker was the one who had to mark in advance the trees allowed for felling. Instead, the man took a chainsaw himself and cut down three birch trees. They all grew up in a protective forest where logging is prohibited. The damage caused to the Russian Federation was estimated at 16,249 rubles. The court date will be announced later.
