The solemn burial ceremony of the remains of the Red Army soldiers who fell during the Great Patriotic War gathered today the residents of Baskovitch in the mass grave in the village of Zdorozhia. The mourning event was attended by the leadership of the district, representatives of the labor collective, public associations, the lieutenant of the corps, local residents and the youth. Among the guests of honor were also representatives of Andijan province in Uzbekistan. First Deputy Chairman of the District Executive Committee - Head of the Department of Agriculture and Food Mikhail Smokhalov and Head of the Department of Ideological Work and Social Protection of the Regional Military Commissariat Konstantin Haranko spoke to those present. The Dean of Churches of Bashenkovič District, Reverend Nikolay Kissel, performed a funeral service to give ashes to the ground of the fallen soldiers for the faith and the homeland. To the sound of the funeral march performed by the 19th Mechanized Brigade Band of the Separate Guard and a military salute, the soldiers who died in 1941 found their last refuge.
