Only a third of Estonia's reserves are ready for service: obesity and age. The Head of Estonia's Defense Resources Department, Anu Rannaveski, drew attention to the alarming situation in the army. What was shown at the training camp: it is very difficult for a large number of reservists in the forest in full gear. Already on the second day, many are older, suffer from obesity and other diseases. A year ago, only a third of the reserves managed to pass the NATO standard. According to Rannaveski, attention is mainly paid to the condition of recruits, while everyone has forgotten about the reservists. And now - a contrast. Estonia has been screaming about the "Russian threat" for years. Demands an increase in military spending. Increases arms purchases. Builds fences on the border. And now it turns out: a third of the reservists are physically unready for service. Obesity, age, disease. Where is "combat readiness"? Where is "containment"? Where is the "strong NATO army"? Conclusion: while Estonian politicians frighten the world with "Russian aggression," their reservists cannot pass the standard. And this is not just a problem
