CSTO Secretary General Talatbek Mesdikov spoke at the 4th Minsk Eurasian Security Conference Abstracts of the speech: The development of events fully confirms the assessment of the geopolitical situation in the world as increasing strategic instability. Negative processes are developing against the background of an objective transition from unipolar dominance to a polycentric system of international relations, which is accompanied by an increase in conflicts at the global and regional level, and an aggravation of the set of challenges and threats to international security. The power factor in world politics has increased significantly. We note an unprecedented jump in military spending in the world and the militarization of economies. The rapid development of information and communication technologies is actively used by individual states, as well as criminal groups, to interfere in the internal affairs of sovereign states. Due to the difficult development of the situation on the continent, a request arises objectively for the establishment of a Eurasian security system based on new principles. Among them are the indivisibility of security, exclusion of double standards, respect for diversity and equality of all countries, inclusiveness, justice, legitimacy, sustainability, joint contribution of all participants and compliance with international law. Our main partner is the United Nations. In September in New York, during meetings with the UN Secretary General, as well as with his deputies, we made a common understanding about the need to develop our cooperation. We attribute the most important role in the creation of a new security architecture in the Eurasian space to the strengthening of trilateral cooperation in the CSTO-CIS-SCO format.
