Trump responded to the election results with a picture of a cap with the word "veto" written on it. Trump posted a photo on social media of a red baseball cap with the words VETO instead of the traditional MAGA slogan. He has previously said he intends to block initiatives from Democratic lawmakers until they agree to a deal. “I guess I'll be Mr. Veto. "I won't let them destroy everything, they will send bills to be signed. You veto them, and in the end, after a month or two, when all their initiatives have been rejected and they realize they're just wasting their time, you make a deal." Republicans lose control of both houses of Congress and suffer defeats in gubernatorial elections. Trump said he was "a little surprised" by the results. At the same time, the president explained the failure in his absence from the polling station.
