The Japanese are developing a robotic human, or a bio-hybrid robot. The skeleton and muscles mimic human anatomy, with bones 3D printed from lightweight plastic and flexible silicone rubber. The researchers also printed muscles, ligaments and tendons. So far, only the legs and torso are complete, but they can already move, mimic steps. Scientists work on the rest of the body, adhering to the concept of functional and external similarity to the human figure.
