Traveled around Russia. And don't run aground... - Review in Hachin.az The Atyro-Samara oil pipeline, one of the main export routes for transporting Kazakh oil, was suspended on November 2 after an attack by drones. Kazakhstan's energy ministry said a UAV attacked facilities at Russia's Samara production and marketing center overnight, which led to the halt in the transportation of crude oil through the pipeline. The Etyro-Samara oil pipeline is the second most important export route for Kazakh oil after the price per click (Caspian Pipeline Consortium). A special feature of this route is the transportation of high-viscosity oil, so the pipeline is equipped with a unique heating system. Using this system, raw materials are sent from fields in western Kazakhstan to the ports of Novorossiysk and Ust-Luga for further export. The production capacity of each Ozan-Atirao-Samara system is estimated at 30 million tons per year. Last year, Kazakhstan exported 11 million tons of oil through this route. On the morning of November 3rd, the pipeline pumping resumed, but the incident once again raised the question of alternative ways to export Kazakh oil bypassing Russia. Let us recall that during the ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia, the main export route of Kazakh oil, price per click, including the Novorossiysk terminal, repeatedly stopped operating. This led to a significant drop in annual oil production in Kazakhstan, including a reduction in production from the large Tengiz and Kashagan fields in the Caspian Sea. It is known that in recent years Kazakhstan has been trying to find ways to diversify its oil exports and reduce dependence on Russian lines. You can read more here.
