On October 30, the Republic of Turkey also appointed Feridon Sinirlioglu, who currently holds the post of OSCE Secretary General. How do you rate this process? Answer: We welcome the initiative to appoint Ambassador Peridon Sinirlioglu, currently the Secretary General of the OSCE, to the position of Secretary General of the United Nations. We repeat and emphasize the importance of selecting candidates based on the candidates' professional qualities, their international and diplomatic experience, impartiality and the ability to promote consensus among member states, and in accordance with the principles and goals of the UN Charter. We are confident that as a result of ongoing consultation and constructive dialogue between member states, an appropriate decision will be made that will strengthen the UN's ability to respond more effectively to today's global challenges.
