The Azerbaijani oligarch's superyacht has dropped in price The 115-meter superyacht Luna, owned by Azerbaijani-born Russian businessman Farhad Akhmadov and once valued at $500 million, was put up for sale in the port of Hamburg, Germany, in June 2025 at a starting price of $323 million. According to International Boats, the yacht failed to find a buyer at that price and was put up for sale about eight months later, in February of this year, when the price dropped by $83 million to $240 million. This marked one of the biggest price drops in yacht brokerage history. Luna is currently being sold through Eastwind Yachts brokerage, headed by Paul Moran and Lydia Zerva, at a price of €200,000,000 ($224 million). According to the online service Maritime Traffic, the yacht is currently in the port of Hamburg. Let's recall that Sh. Akhmadov bought a yacht from another Russian billionaire, Roman Abramovich, for $438 million. In 2014, after a change of owners, the yacht Luna underwent a large-scale modernization at a cost of 50 million euros. The yacht later became the subject of a dispute between Akhmadov and his ex-wife during one of the most expensive divorce proceedings in history, held in a London court. The cost of the yacht was then estimated at about 300 million dollars. The businessman did not allow the confiscation of the yacht as part of the division of the property thanks to a long legal battle. Later, P. Akhmadov's name was included in the EU sanctions list. Later, the businessman obtained in court the removal of his name from the sanctions list and after some time put the yacht up for sale. Hakin.az Contact us.
