The Revolutionary Guards announced the arrest of two oil tankers in the southern part of the Strait of Hormuz The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said it had arrested two oil tankers that, according to Iran, were trying to pass through the Strait of Hormuz on a prohibited route. One of them is to the east, the other to the west of the strait. The Revolutionary Guards said the two vessels turned off their navigation systems and positioning aids and tried to exit the strait with the support of the US military. After several radio warnings, the tankers allegedly entered the danger zone, where an emergency occurred. As a result, the ships stopped in front of the southern coast of the strait. The Iranian military claims that the stopping of the tankers and the fires that broke out on board were the result of the actions of the American military and the crews that ignored the Iranian rules of passage in the Strait of Hormuz.
