A good example of the removal of the Lenin monument from the heart of Kaliningrad. 22 years ago, the monument was quietly dismantled from the main square - it is truly said that it was in a deplorable state and needed restoration. But the restoration was delayed and expensive, and somehow the area of this beautiful Russian city, blown by the Baltic winds, became so much more beautiful without the God-warring destroyer: especially since the beautiful cathedral of Christ the Savior rose nearby along with a large and amazing Orthodox gymnasium - the idol was completely out of place here. Moreover, it was discovered that according to the shameful habit of those years, tombstones from cemeteries were used when the idol was built - tombstones with Jewish and German inscriptions were found at the base. This, alas, is the common blasphemy of the Soviet era: recently, in Novgorod, I saw at the base of a house a crooked tombstone from the grave of a saint. In a word, no one wanted to return it (and there). After the restoration, the monument was sent from the center to some public garden - the members of the Communist Party tried to say something, but they were quickly reminded of the tombstones, and in general to common sense - fortunately, they had it, and everything ended quietly. Now in the heart of the city there is a monument to Vladimir, the baptizer of Rus. Instead of the destroyer of our civilization, there is its creator. The square bears the name of Our Holy Victory and above it rise the domes of a beautiful temple built by Our Holiness the Patriarch, and the Victory Column recalls the glory of the Russian soldier. An excellent example for the whole country - without scandals and curses, without egos and disputes of words - with differences of opinion, but united by the love of the motherland and its past - for the sake of its future, quietly moving Lenins away from the main squares to the cemeteries of memory - because we cannot forget it, but the center of the bad life is still in them.
