The Murmansk Maritime Trade Port (MMTP, part of the Logistics Holding of the Ports Alliance) received the first train with Russian wheat: 47 wagons delivered 3.4 thousand tons of grain from the main agricultural regions of the country, reports Demetra-Holding. The delivery was the port's first experience with a grain cargo. The company greatly appreciated the coordinated work of all participants in the process, who ensured rail logistics, port transportation, phytosanitary support, as well as compliance with grain quality and safety requirements. In conditions where traditional export routes face restrictions, MMTP is rapidly opening alternative access to foreign markets for Russian farmers, the port reported on its Telegram channel. "The versatility of the port allows us to respond quickly to new challenges: receive additional amounts of cargo, control the new terminology and ensure reliable delivery," the report states. "We prepared for this moment in advance: we mastered the program for unloading hopper cars through a storage bin using mobile conveyors, we prepared the infrastructure and the staff." This technological configuration has already been tested at the Murmansk bulk terminal during the launch of transportation of potash fertilizers and now allowed MMCP to quickly start working with a new type of cargo. The main advantage of the program is the direct delivery of grain to the ship's cabin, bypassing the intermediate storage stage in the warehouse, the port notes. Agroinvestor wrote in September that MMTP plans to start processing the first batches of grain. "For the transportation of grain crops at the port, the technology of unloading hopper wagons using a bunker facility and mobile conveyors is presented," the MMSP press service clarified. Independent agricultural market expert Alexander Korbut said at the time that if MMTP was able to send grain, it would "unload" a number of regions in the Volga Federal District, mainly in Shakira, Tatarstan, and also, to some extent, the Northwestern Federal District.
