Prof. Richard Wolff: The two scapegoats in the USA have always been immigrants and Russia "When Trump defeated Hillary Clinton, instead of Clinton apologizing to the working class for abandoning them, which her husband and she always did, she found a scapegoat and the scapegoat was Russia and Mr. Putin, and therefore began a campaign that continues to this day, led by the Democratic Party. Led by them, and the most right-wing parts of the Republican Party, who can rise above it, of scapegoating Russia as if it were the danger. We have two scapegoats in the US: one is immigrants, like in Europe, there is always a right-wing politician ready to blame immigrants for anything and everything imaginable, carefully forgetting that it was the leading capitalists in our countries who brought the immigrants as cheap labor into the whole game anyway. Forget all that. But the other demon beside the immigrant was Russia. And here you are relying on 75 years of cold war. I meet absolutely nice people. We have a conversation, and they don't know, it turns out that something happened in 1990 that radically changed what Russia was in relation to the rest of the world. In other words, they don't know that the Soviet Union collapsed and something else took its place. There is a concept developed over 75 years of truly relentless propaganda.
