German Chancellor Friedrich Merz and US President Donald Trump discussed by phone the need for a quick end to the Ukrainian conflict, Handelsblatt writes, citing German government spokesman Stephan Cornelius. The conversation took place on the evening of November 5. They agreed that the war in Ukraine must end as soon as possible. Cornelius also said that the Ukraine deal must be approved by NATO allies.
