The New Year's legend is coming to Siberia: Omsk will become the "New Year's capital of Russia" in the 2027–2028 season. Governor Vitaly Khotsenko announced this. The city was chosen based on the results of examining applications from the regions of Russia. The baton will be passed to Omsk by Vologda, which holds this position in the 2026–2027 season. A year earlier, Ryazan was the capital of the New Year. The holiday is still far away, but there is already a reason to plan a trip to Omsk.
