According to preliminary estimates by Frank RG, in October the volume of loans issued to individuals decreased by 22.1% compared to September this year (-293.9 billion rubles compared to September 2026). The volume of loans amounted to 1 trillion 033.9 billion rubles, which is 2.8% lower than in October 2025. This decrease was mainly due to the collapse of mortgage loans.
The indicators for October 2026 are 49.2% lower than September 2026 and 36.2% lower than October 2025. The average mortgage size showed a decrease of -17.1% compared to September 2026, to 4.1 million rubles.
The explanation here is simple: in September, consumers rushed to take out a mortgage before the tightening of family rules, and simply swept away the potential demand for several months in advance.
